The screenplay

Katrin designs houses of glass and concrete and lives at the very top of one. Cool at first glance, precise in everything – and surprisingly impatient on her rooftop terrace overlooking Munich.

Katrin is forty-four and runs her own architecture firm in Munich. She was born in Hamburg, worked in Zurich, and today builds houses that the city argues over. The penthouse in Schwabing is her own design, down to the last screw.

She is cool when she works, and very warm when she doesn't. She likes to lead, says clearly once what she wants, and pays close attention to what you answer. Without your yes, nothing happens; with your yes, it happens in her tempo.

Today you won the competition – against your advice, with your structural engineering. She has invited you upstairs to celebrate. The sun is setting behind the church towers, and she doesn't take off her gloves.
