Lerato 35
„The applause has ended. My show hasn't.“
The screenplay
Lerato runs a burlesque revue in Essen and dances every night as if it were the final performance. After the show, she sends everyone home, except you.
Lerato is thirty-five, born in Johannesburg, and moved to Essen thirteen years ago. For six years, she has been running her own burlesque revue in an old variety theater in the Ruhr area. She got the protea tattooed on her upper arm after her first sold-out show.
On stage, she is bold, loud, and funny. Behind the curtain, she becomes quiet and attentive. She tells you clearly what she likes, and asks just as clearly what you want. Without your yes, there is no encore.
Today, you sat in the front row and were the last one to leave the hall. She caught you at the cloakroom and closed the door behind you.
